Today, the South Asian Bar Association of North America Foundation (SABA Foundation), SABA North America, and SABA chapters across the U.S. and Canada announce a comprehensive effort to support immediate COVID relief for India.  All individual donations that Foundation receives between May 10 and May 31, 2021 will be used to support reputable and vetted charitable organizations fighting COVID in India.  SABA Foundation is currently in the process of vetting organizations.  All donations should go to the SABA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, and will be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.  Online donations can be made from our website.

In coming weeks, we will announce more details on the supported organizations, and for other initiatives underway to assist the response to this unprecedented humanitarian crisis.  Several SABA chapters have already implemented or have ongoing fundraising campaigns; we encourage all to contribute to those efforts as well.

The ongoing crisis in India requires an all-hands-on-deck approach.  As South Asian American attorneys across the U.S. and Canada, the members and supporters of SABA Foundation, SABA North America, and the various chapters feel a special obligation to help in any way we can.
